Leigh E. Johnson is a trial lawyer, trial consultant, certified psychodramatist, and the founder of Trial Whisperer™ and Law Focus Groups™. Known for transforming complex legal matters into compelling human stories, she blends her courtroom experience with psychodrama, narrative structure, and role theory to reach jurors where it matters most: the heart.A graduate and faculty member of the Trial Lawyers College (TLC), Leigh has consulted on criminal, civil, and white-collar cases involving over $193 million in legal expenses, multi-million-dollar verdicts, and presidential pardons. Her clients span from major corporate executives and families in crisis to wrongfully convicted youth.With a background in military communications, air traffic control, and biotechnical engineering, Leigh brings a rare blend of creativity, precision, and problem-solving to every case. She is the author of Building The Case, a framework for advocacy rooted in storytelling, role theory, and truth-telling in action.
Leigh holds a Juris Doctor, cum laude, from John F. Kennedy University School of Law, graduating #1 in her class in 2003. Her academic achievements include a BS in Biology (with honors) from CSUH, and an AA in Social Sciences from Merritt College. She has also completed postgraduate work in psychology and storytelling, and graduated from Gerry Spence’s Trial Lawyers College in 2009.Certified by the American Board of Examiners in Psychodrama, Sociometry, and Group Psychotherapy since 2019, Leigh is a member of AAJ, NACDL, CLA, and TLC, and has been recognized annually by Super Lawyers. She is the proud recipient of the 2024 Zerka T. Moreno Award (ASGPP).
