Daniela Simmons, PhD, TEP Creator of Tele’Drama Founder and CEO of the International Tele’Drama Institute (ITI). Daniela Simmons, PhD, TEP, is international trainer & supervisor, the creator of the Tele'Drama method and the founder and director of the International Tele'Drama Institute (ITI) which has already welcomed thousands of people, from 71 countries. She is the current President of the American Society in Group Psychotherapy and Psychodrama (ASGPP). Daniela Simmons', professional experience, both in Europe and the US, is in educational, research, and consultancy work in the social sciences and mental health. She received training on the psychoanalysis of group relations in organizations at the Tavistock Institute of Human Relations, headquartered in London. She has been utilizing action methods sessions since 1995 in Europe and since 2005 in the US.

Charles Fishman M.D. a child and adolescent psychiatrist, is co-author with Dr Salvador Minuchin of the classic text, Family Therapy Techniques (Harvard University Press) and six other books). He has led over 600 workshops here and abroad. He is Clinical Professor of Psychiatry, John A. Burns School of Medicine, University of Hawaii. His upcoming book Performance-Based Family Therapy: A Therapist’s Guide to Measurable Change (Rutledge Press, in press) informs the mental health profession towards an increased outcome orientation.

H. Charles Fishman, MD, a master family therapist, has trained and supervised family therapists worldwide with his
primary focus on the ‘power the family.” He has co-authored a foundational book Family Therapy Techniques (Harvard) with Salvador Minuchin and 5 others. including Enduring Change in Eating Disorders:

Chantal Nève-Hanquet, Member of the Centre for Psychosociological Training and Intervention (CFIP) International Tele’Drama Institute (ITI) Faculty. Chantal Nève Hanquet is a Belgian psychologist, trainer in psychodrama and in Family Therapy, and Jungian Psychoanalyst. She is a founding member, as well as a treasurer of the Federation of European Psychodrama Training Organizations (FEPTO) and a member of the International Association for Group Psychotherapy and Group Process (IAGP). Dena D. Baumgartner PhD, TEP, LMFT, LPC, CGP Founder and Director of the Tucson Center for Action Methods and Psychodrama (T-CAMP) ASGPP, IAGP, AGPA. Dr. Baumgartner has been in private practice as a therapist and psychodramatist for over 30 years in Tucson, Arizona USA. She is the founder and Director of the Tucson Center for Action Methods and Psychodrama (T-CAMP). She is a fellow of ASGPP and was awarded the J.L Moreno Lifetime Achievement award from that organization in 2014. She served on the American Board of Examiners for 9 years serving as chairperson for one. She was elected to the International Association of Group Psychotherapy board (IAGP) for 9 years holding international chair for psychodrama for 3 of those years.She has presented in more then 25 countries.

Jonathan D. Moreno was born and grew up in New York’s Hudson Valley. His father, Jacob Levy Moreno, was a psychiatrist and the pioneer of psychodrama and sociometry, the precursor of social network theory. His father and mother, psychotherapist Zerka T. Moreno, worked closely together. Both of his parents emigrated to the United States from Europe before World War II. Moreno and his older sister, Regina Moreno, spent much of their childhood in Beacon, New York on the grounds of their parents’ sanitarium and psychodrama training center. Jonathan D. Moreno is an American philosopher and historian who specializes in the intersection of bioethics, culture, science, and national security, and has published seminal works on the history, sociology and politics of biology and medicine.Moreno is the David and Lyn Silfen University Professor and Professor of Medical Ethics and the History and Sociology of Science at the University of Pennsylvania. As the David and Lyn Silfen University Professor, Moreno is one of fourteen Penn Integrates Knowledge professors. He is a senior fellow at the Center for American Progress and served on the Obama-Biden Transition Project in 2008 as the director of the Department of Health and Human Services Agency Review for Bioethics.Moreno is a senior advisor for the Presidential Commission for the Study of Bioethical Issues, and served on the senior staff of the Clinton Administration’s National Bioethics Advisory Commission and the Advisory Committee on Human Radiation Experiments. He is an elected member of the Institute of Medicine of the National Academy of Sciences and is the U.S. member of the UNESCO International Bioethics Committee.

Regina Moreno, MA/sociology, grew up in Beacon, with her father, JL Moreno; her mother, Florence, and stepmother Zerka, being part of the development of psychodrama. She spent her adult life as an educator.

Shirley A. Barclay, RN, MSN, CNS, LMFT, T.E.P.
Shirley A. Barclay has been a Certified Trainer in Psychodrama, Sociometry and Group Psychotherapy since 1978. She is a Life Member and Fellow of the ASGPP. She is a certified Marriage and Family Therapist and is also a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing. She is a Trained Healer in two Native American traditions and works with the interface of the Western and Indigenous Traditions when she is training and working with her students. She has traveled and taught in Europe, the Far East, the Middle East, the U.S., and South America over the past 25 + years and continues to do so. She is a member of the American Counseling Association and the American Multi Cultural Division of that organization. She is also on the Board of The Center of Health and Whole Healing, Inc., and on the Board of the Texas Cherokee's. She has a background in Cultural and Medical Anthropology having 30+ graduate hours from The New School for Social Research-Graduate Faculty. She has extensive training in Metaphysics, Marriage and Family Therapy, Bioenergetics, All Forms of Abuse, as well as Cross Cultural and Cross Religious Studies. She has studied with and taught many different religious and cultural groups in different parts of the world. She is someone who has studied Alternative Medical Practices from many different teachers and continues to do so. Her work is very integrative and enables therapists and others who study with her to open many new vistas and fosters her students to follow their hearts, pursue their dreams and to believe in themselves as agents of change. She is not the least bit interested in producing clones. She is very Morenian in her thinking and training. J L Moreno was her teacher and she was trained by Zerka Moreno among others.

 

Elaine Ades Sachnoff, PhD, T.E.P.
Trained at Beacon, NY with Dr. Jacob L Moreno and Zerka T. Moreno.
Her other teachers were Hannah B Weiner and Martin Haskell.
She is the Founder [1981] and Director of the Psychodrama Training Institute of Chicago {formerly known as the Oasis Psychodrama Institute].
She is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist and the author of numerous articles on training originating the Sachnoff method of "Hit and Run Doubling",and the "Use of Contracts in Psychodrama"as well as THE WARM UP BOOK.,
Dr Sachnoff was the 2005 recipient of the J L Moreno Lifetime Achievement Award from the ASGPP
She has served on both the Executive Council of the ASGPP,as a board member of the ABE and was a founding member of the Federation of Trainers in Group Psychotherapy, Psychodrama and Sociometry.
She trains and teaches extensively all over the world.
 

Grete Anna Leutz is a German doctor, psychotherapist and founder of the Morenian Institute of psychodrama, sociometry and group psychotherapy in Überlingen near Lake Constance. She knew Moreno in the United States where she had moved, and where she was studying medicine. She was perfect to  play the role of a "psychodrama sister" for the little Regina Moreno. She also deepened the techniques of role-playing and sociometry, both on the Beacon stage and on the domestic one, becoming a pioneer spirit in systemic approach and in psychotherapy of the family.In 1973 Grete A. Leutz was one of the co-founders  of the '' International Association of Group Therapy " – IAGP. From 1986 to 1989 she was also President. Besides teaching for ten years at the Medical School of Hannover, she also taught psychodrama therapy in Lindau and Lübeck for 30 years.

John Nolte has been a psychodramatic practitioner and trainer for over forty years. John has a doctorate in clinical psychology from Washington University and was trained in psychodrama by J.L. Moreno, M.D., the originator of psychodrama and other action methods, and his wife, Zerka Moreno. He is certified as a Trainer-Educator-Practitioner by the American Board of Examiners in Psychodrama, Sociometry and Group Psychotherapy. He is recognized by the psychodrama community as a senior and respected practitioner of the Morenean methods as well as a seasoned trainer. In addition to numerous presentations at professional conferences as well as published articles in professional journals, John has conducted psychodrama training programs in all parts of the United States as well as in Western Europe and was the keynote speaker and presenter for the AustralianNew Zealand Psychodrama Association Conference in Christchurch, New Zealand, where he also conducted training workshops.

Meg E Givnish, PhD, T.E.P.
Dr. Meg Givnish is a nationally known clinician, educator, trainer and motivational speaker. She was among the first group of professionals to be Certified as a Trainer, Educator, Practitioner by the American Board of Examiners in Psychodrama, Sociometry and Group Psychotherapy. She trained at the Moreno Institute under both Dr. J.L. Moreno and Zerka Moreno.
Meg was also a member of the group that founded and developed the Horsham Clinic in Ambler Pennsylvania in 1972 where she served as Director of the Psychodrama Department as well as Director of Professional Education until 1984. During this time she established The Academy of Psychodrama at Horsham Clinic where many professionals began their journey toward official Certification by the newly established Board of Examiners.
After the death of Dr. Moreno, The Horsham Psychiatric Group purchased the Moreno Institute with the approval and blessing of Zerka Moreno. At this time Dr. Givnish became President of the Moreno Institute in Beacon from 1981 through 1983.
In May of 1980 the first performance of The Problem Solving Theatre led to requests for performances in settings from schools, to and even to a presentation for The United Nations Peace Making professionals. Problem Solving Theatre was inspired by the early work of Dr. Moreno with the Theater of Spontaneity. PST is a form of Improvisational Theater which is sometimes referred to as “Psychodrama at arm’s length".

Anath Garber, trained by J.L Moreno and Zerka T. Moreno, was on the faculty of the Moreno Institute in New York City,has conducted and workshops nationally and internationally, and has been in private practice in New York City since 1975. She introduced psychodrama to the treament of stuttering, alcoholsim, andweight control through mind control, as well as spiritual growth.For 20 years she conducted groups combining psychoanalytic treatment with psychodrama.Currently most of her psychodrama sessions are conducted over the phone, a necessary adaptation to clientele in different parts of USA and the globe. She blends those with 'focusing' and” mindfulness” . She’s been quoted in various magazines :'Essence' and 'Body and Mind' and "Mode." Her work was featured on Oprah's OWN network. Dalmiro M Bustos, MD, an Argentinian psychiatrist and psychodramatist, taught widely in Brazil, and has been a seminal figure in influencing the course of psychodrama there. His work takes him all over South America, Mexico, Equador. He’s been a trainer in England, Spain, Sweden and many other countries. Teaching what he learned with Moreno in many different cultures changed his view. He understood that the sociometric world that Moreno formulated really exists. He is director Instituto de Psicodrama JL Buenos Aires and Sao Paulo. Author of 25 books. Fellow Member of IAGP.

Jonathan Fox is the co-founder of Playback Theatre and was artistic director of the original Playback Theatre Company from its inception in 1975. From 1993 until 2010 he was director of the Centre for Playback Theatre in New York. He is the author of Acts of Service: Spontaneity, Commitment, Tradition in the Nonscripted Theatre and Beyond Theatre: a playback theatre memoir; co-author of Personal Stories in Public Spaces: Essays in Playback Theatre by its founders; and the editor of The Essential Moreno: Writings on Spontaneity, Psychodrama and Group Method.

Hannah Fox, M.A., APTT is the Co-Director of the New York School of Playback Theatre and the founder of Eugene Playback Theatre, Big Apple Playback Theatre, and Pangea Playback Theatre, an international multi-cultural professional online Playback Theatre. She is a senior trainer of Playback world-wide and author of several scholarly articles about Playback Theatre. Her book of theatre games, Zoomy Zoomy: Improv Games and Exercises for Groups is used by practitioners around the globe. Hannah is also a dancer, yoga teacher and performer. Peter, PhD and Susan Pitzele Founders of Bibliodrama International Tele’Drama Institute (ITI) Faculty. Peter and Susan Pitzele are the creators of Bibliodrama. Originally called "The Psychodrama of the Bible" they have recently been offering an ongoing seminar for the psychodrama community via Tele'Drama. Peter has a PhD in Literature and was a TEP; Susan has a MA in counselling.

Erica Hollander, PhD, JD, TEP is a lawyer in Human Communication Studies, who now paints, writes poetry, dabbles in philosophy, and does psychodrama.
 

Catherine D. Nugent, LCPC, TEP Laurel Psychodrama Training Institute. Catherine D. Nugent, LCPC, TEP, is Executive Director/Principal Trainer with Laurel Psychodrama Training Institute in Laurel, Maryland. Cathy also maintains a private psychotherapy practice with specialties in use of integrative and experiential approaches to help heal trauma, attachment injuries, challenging life transitions, and other concerns. Angela Christoph, M.A. German Psychodrama Association International Tele’Drama Institute (ITI). Angela Christoph, MA, was born in Vienna/Austria und currently lives in Germany. She was trained in the Moreno Institute Edenkoben/Überlingen which was founded by Dr. Grete Leutz in 1975. Angela is a psychologist, psychodramatist and trainer for the Moreno Institute in Germany. She is on the board of the German Psychodrama Association and works as Supervisor/Coach and trainer. Her special interests are exploring strategies for coping with stress, resilience and resources using psychodramatic methods.

Magdalene Jeyarathnam, MSW, PhDC, CP, Psychodrama Trainer Board member IAGP, member ASGPP, Co-founder, Expressive arts therapy association of India, founding member Indian academy of professional supervisors. Magdalene Jeyarathnam is an expressive arts therapist and a board certified Psychodramatist working with individuals, couples and groups including family groups in India. Magdalene has more than 25 years of experience in working with addiction, HIV/AIDS and mental health issues, she has worked with several state and central government agencies in India, She has also worked with UNICEF and WHO as consultant on projects. Mark Wentworth (United Kingdom) Global Colour Ambassador Colour for Life; ASGPP Executive Council; Chair of the ASGPP International Committee International Tele’Drama Institute (ITI) Board of Directors & Faculty. Mark has been studying and working with colour for more than 30 years. He is the creator of the Colour PsychoDynamics® method, integrating colour therapy with the archetypal worlds of Carl Jung and the psychodramatic worlds of Jacob Moreno. Mark is the author of Add a Little Colour to Your Life, which is available in 7 languages. He teaches internationally as well as being a guest on many radio and tv shows around the world.

 Filipe De Moura Dynamic Theatre World Association International Tele’Drama Institute (ITI) Board of Directors & Faculty. Filipe De Moura is a musician and artist who believes art is one of the best ways to positively transform humanity and the world. He, along with Mark Wentworth, created Dynamic Theatre (Incognito Auxiliary) and has been working with expressive arts for more than 15 years. Part of which also includes working with Colour Psycodynamics as well developing his own approach to music therapy. He studied Classical Singing at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama in London. On stage, he premiered the world renowned musical “The Phantom of the Opera” in Portugal, in the role of Raoul, in 2019.

Phil Armour LPC Master's Marriage & Family Therapy International Tele’Drama Institute (ITI) Team Member & Faculty. Phil Armour, M.MFT, LPC & LMFT, has forged a private practice counseling office in Longview, Texas for over 22 years. He has attended numerous workshops on creativity in therapy, art therapy, drama therapy, psychotherapy and Bibliodrama. In 2013, he attended an intensive 4-day training on Applied Theatre and Spiritual Formation at Fuller Theological Seminary. Since November 2019, he has presented multiple workshops on Bibliodrama and Family Therapy.

Esly Carvalho, PhD, Iberian-American Association of Psycho-Trauma (AIBAPT). Esly Regina Carvalho, Ph. D. is a Brazilian-American Psychodrama Trainer and Trainer of Trainers for the EMDR Institute (USA). She helped bring both Psychodrama and EMDR to Ecuador and Bolivia, having learned it in her native country of Brazil. A published author and speaker, Esly has integrated her Psychodrama background into EMDR training and clinical practice. Having grown up with a great love and appreciation for the Bible, going into Bibliodrama was a natural for Esly. Reijo Kauppila, M.Ed. (Adult Education), Psychodrama trainer TEP, Supervisor and Supervisor trainer, Certified business coach ACC Creative Change and Coaching Change Founder, Helsinki Psychodrama Institute (Finland) CEO, President of NBBE (Nordic-Baltic Board of Examiners) and the Association of Finnish Psychodrama Trainers (MOPSI), Member of FEPTO Network Group for Climate Change. Reijo Kauppila is a specialist of experiential learning and development of adults individually, in groups and in communities. His main interests are the development and research of learning based on psychodrama, sociodrama and sociometry, and how these can support transformational learning of adults. He is working both in Helsinki Psychodrama Institute as the CEO and the main trainer, and in his own company Creative Change. He coordinated two European projects funded by EU and Nordic Board of Ministers developing EBTS-programme in which sociodramatic playful process supports therapeutically refugee families. He is a former chair of Training in FEPTO Council 2013-2019.

Ichiro (Okkady) Okajima, M.A., Nishikyushu University Certified Tele’Drama Practitioner (CTP – Level 1). Ichiro Okajima, known by most as Okkady, is a professor of psychology for Nishikyushu University, Saga prefecture, Japan. He first met psychodrama when he was a freshman of Chiba university, and was attracted by the mental enrichment and camaraderie that psychodrama brings. As a result, he researched warm-ups of psychodrama at Kyushu University's graduate school and earned a master's degree in educational psychology. Last year, Okkady joined the TELE'DRAMA team in search of a new method of psychodrama in response to COVID-19. Hadass Pelter has been in love with theatre from a young age. With great enthusiasm she graduated as a drama therapist and drama teacher. She became involved in the world of applied theatre in many roles: from theatre maker at the world famous Oerol festival to theatre teacher of people with Down's syndrome, from director in amateur theatre to playback theatre practitioner. She feels honored every time she gets to play back people's personal stories.
